‘One night can change everything.’

RUNNING IN HEELS, my debut coming-of-age short film, is now streaming on YouTube.

A 7-minute film set over a chaotic night in Sydney, where a young woman stranded in the early hours meets an unlikely confidant - a charming homeless man whose intuition pushes her to confront the version of herself she’s been trying to outrun.

After months of post-production and revisions - especially around the ending - I learned something I suspect most filmmakers discover after their first few films:

You can’t fix everything in post! The screenplay matters. And you can’t rush it…

But sometimes this quote from one of my favourite directors still rings true too:

“You have to throw yourself into things you’re not ready for.” - Tony Scott

The final cut isn’t perfect, and not every moment landed the way I originally imagined. But I’m still incredibly proud of this film as my first.

More than anything, I’m grateful to the crew for their patience, care, and belief in bringing this small movie to life. If you’re reading this - thank you!

Over the last 12 months, the film was rejected by multiple festivals. I’m grateful two still gave it a chance to be seen. Rejection is part of the process, but sometimes it only takes one yes. I was lucky enough to get two! - and that meant the world to me.

If you find the time to watch it, I hope it resonates in some way.
